Suppressed speciation rates and compositional changes in Paleozoic faunas.

چکیده
Shifts in the taxonomic composition of Paleozoic communities are commomly ascribed to selective extinctions. Suppression realized speciation rates owing shrinkage available adaptive space (lowering potential niche number), even though unselective, results differential diversity losses, greatest losses being sustained by clades with highest and extinction (the high-turnover caldes). The resulting compositional shifts apear be selective. Foreclosures opportunities probably play an important perhaps sorne cases a dominant role during Paleozoic.

Evolutionary dynamics at high latitudes: speciation and extinction in polar marine faunas.
Ecologists have long been fascinated by the flora and fauna of extreme environments. Physiological studies have revealed the extent to which lifestyle is constrained by low temperature but there is as yet no consensus on why the diversity of polar assemblages is so much lower than many tropical assemblages. The evolution of marine faunas at high latitudes has been influenced strongly by oceanic...
متن کاملFloral symmetry affects speciation rates in angiosperms.
Despite much recent activity in the field of pollination biology, the extent to which animal pollinators drive the formation of new angiosperm species remains unresolved. One problem has been identifying floral adaptations that promote reproductive isolation. The evolution of a bilaterally symmetrical corolla restricts the direction of approach and movement of pollinators on and between flowers...

Purpose: Determining the effect of progesterone on the embryo quality (total cell number and diameter of blastocyst), survival and implantation rates of mouse blastocyst with or without ovarian stimulation. Materials and Methods: Female 6-10 weeks old NMRI mice were divided into four groups as follows: (a) Non-stimulated pregnant mice as control (b) Non-stimulated pregnant mice with daily inje...

متن کاملRates for Inductive Learning of Compositional Models
Compositional Models are widely used in Computer Vision as they exhibit strong expressive power by generating a combinatorial number of configurations with a small number of components. However, the literature is still missing a theoretical understanding of why compositional models are better than flat representations, despite empirical evidence as well as strong arguments that compositional mo...
